0Welcome back
Welcome to Talk to Walk, your go-to newsletter empowering small business owners with clear, actionable AI insights to boost your success from day one!
Its the dog days of summer, and the team at Talk to Walk is currently focused on vacation and family. We hope you are making the most of the summer too. Big news in the AI world today is the launch of GPT-5. We wanted to try it out before giving you the details, but we still apologize for being tardy today.
Prompt of the week: Just listen
Let’s play a game, think of the biggest task on your plate today, and have AI do it for you.
Pull together every piece of information needed, and write down in detail what you need to do, what the goal outcome is, and package it together in a neat prompt.
The nice thing is that half the battle of that task is over once you do this, even without AI.
How far did it get you?
Let’s (talk to) walk through what I did since this is a one-way discussion right now.
Last week, my biggest task was to convince users to book a call with me for research. The catch? I didn’t have access to their emails. I was limited to in-app pop-ups. That’s it.
I started jotting down quick thoughts out loud, things like:
These users are older and not very technical
Even if they book, many struggle to open Zoom
They’re usually happy to take a phone call
I’m targeting paid users who are very active in the app
Etc.
Next, I wrote out what I need to learn from these users to ensure my outreach method would not bias my results. Or at the very least, I would be aware of the bias.
Then I hit enter just to see what AI would do with the info.
The AI gave me two options:
One was nearly identical to the approach I had in mind.
The other… let’s just say it was a creative swing and a miss. 😅
But the real value wasn’t the output. It was the prep.
Just by organizing my thoughts well enough for an AI to understand, I’d already clarified my own thinking. When I hit enter, I realized I already knew what to do. AI just confirmed it.

App of the week GPT-5
While you were sipping your cold brew, OpenAI dropped GPT‑5 the most powerful model it’s ever builtand didn’t even bother giving it a big shiny button. No dropdown, no drumroll, no launch party. Just boom, it’s in your chat.
I had to have mine explain it to me, but essentially, you don’t see it in the model picker because now, each time you message AI will decide which model is the best for your query. A godsend for those of us in the “Set it and forget it” camp.
What’s different?
GPT‑5 doesn’t just generate text, it thinks. Not AGI-level sentience (yet), but you’ll notice:
Sharper logic: Reasoning that actually holds up past three paragraphs.
Cleaner code: Developers are already calling it their “favorite intern, minus the memes.”
More memory: It remembers what you said. Long context, fewer “As I mentioned earlier…” failures.
Multimodal everything: Text, code, images, video, audio—GPT‑5 doesn’t just read the internet, it watches it now.
But where is it?
That’s the fun part. OpenAI swapped the dropdown for smart routing. You ask a question, GPT‑5 decides which part of itself should answer. It's like having an entire team of specialists, but they all share a brain and don’t interrupt each other.
Why it matters for your business
This isn't just an upgrade. It’s a pivot from “AI assistant” to “AI collaborator.” Think:
✅ Market research in one thread.
✅ Sales emails tailored to your ICP.
✅ Code snippets with explanations, not just output.
✅ Customer insights with actual nuance.
Final thought:
GPT‑5 isn’t screaming for your attention, but it’s about to quietly change how you work, write, build, and think.
💡 The real productivity boost isn’t getting work done faster. It’s becoming someone who doesn’t need as much help next time.
That’s all for now.
